Cap-Vert Taux d'inflation

The annual inflation rate in Cape Verde edged down to 2.3% in May 2025, from a 2.5% gain in the previous month. The slowdown was mainly attributed to prices easing for clothing and footwear (9% vs 9.2% in April), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.6% vs 5.8%), and food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4% vs 2.3%). Meanwhile, prices accelerated for miscellaneous goods and services (7.2% vs 6.7%), hotels, cafes and restaurants (6.2% vs 5.9%), and transportation (0.8% vs 0.7%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in May, following a 0.4% increase in the previous month.
