Ecuador’s trade surplus widened to $437.1 million in August 2025 from $263.1 million a year earlier. Exports rose to $3.09 billion from $2.99 billion, driven by higher shipments of primary products ($2.58 billion vs $2.45 billion), while industrial exports fell to $508.1 million from $544.4 million. Imports declined to $2.65 billion from $2.73 billion, as purchases of fuels and lubricants dropped to $594.9 million from $712.6 million, and capital goods imports fell to $573.9 million. Meanwhile, consumer goods and raw material imports increased to $600.5 million and $876.3 million, respectively.
