Finland’s trade deficit narrowed to EUR 0.10 billion in April 2025 from EUR 0.47 billion in the same month of the previous year, according to preliminary estimates. Exports saw a 3.3% decrease year-on-year to 6.1 billion, driven by a drop in sales to non-EU countries (11.2%) while, partially offset by the rise in exports for EU countries (2.7%). Among trading partners, shipments increased mainly to Poland (38%), Sweden (12.2%), and Italy (7.7%). Meanwhile, imports fell 8.7% to EUR 6.2 billion, mainly due to the lower purchases from EU (8.4%) and non-EU countries (9%). Imports grew mostly from Norway (124%), Spain (17.4%), and US (1%).
