France Production Industrielle (Mensuel)

Industrial production in France rose by 0.2% month-over-month in March 2025, slowing more than the expected 0.3% increase and down from an upwardly revised 1% growth in February. The deceleration was mainly due to a moderate rise in manufacturing activity (0.6% vs. 1.3% in February), weighed down by declines in the production of food products and beverages (-0.3% vs. -0.4%), and machinery and equipment goods (-0.6% vs. 3.4%). Meanwhile, output also fell in mining and quarrying, energy, water supply, and waste management (-2% vs. -0.5%), as well as in construction (-0.9% vs. 1.5%). On a yearly basis, industrial activity was 0.4% lower than in March 2024. For the first quarter as a whole, industrial production was flat compared to the previous period.
