France Taux d'inflation

France’s annual inflation rate stood at 1% in July 2025, unchanged from June and in line with preliminary estimates. The slight acceleration in service prices (2.5% vs 2.4% in June) and food (1.6% vs 1.4%) was offset by a sharper decline in energy costs (-7.2% vs -6.7%). Prices of manufactured products fell at the same rate as in June (-0.2%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.2% in July, following a 0.4% gain in June, also consistent with preliminary data. The increase in costs was mainly driven by higher service charges, particularly in transport and accommodation. Energy prices rose as well, while declines in manufactured goods, due to summer sales, partially offset the overall rise. Food and tobacco prices remained stable. Meanwhile, the annual harmonized inflation rate stood at 0.9%, unchanged from June, while monthly HICP rose 0.3%, slightly easing from 0.4% in June—both confirming flash estimates.
