Lithuania’s trade deficit widened to EUR 0.575 billion in April 2025 from EUR 0.342 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year as imports grew while exports fell. Imports rose by 2.7% year-on-year to EUR 3.586 billion, driven mainly by increases in imports of ground vehicles (18.5%), and natural calcium phosphates (100%). Among trading partners, imports increased from Poland (13.5%), Germany (12.5%), and Latvia (8.1%). Meanwhile, exports dropped by 4.5% to EUR 3.011 billion, weighed down by lower exports of mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation (-26.9%). The top export destinations were Latvia (12.1%), Poland (10.4%), and Germany (8.7%). For the first four months of the year, the country posted a EUR 2.179 billion deficit, with exports increasing 0.1% and imports climbing 8%.
