Luxembourg’s unemployment rate edged higher to 6% in April 2025, marking the highest reading since May 2021, after holding steady at 5.9% for the previous six months. The increase was primarily driven by a monthly rise of 92 in the number of unemployed persons, reaching 18,858, despite domestic employment increasing by 519 to 520,835. Meanwhile, the number of Luxembourg citizens active in the labour force went up by 372 to 315,969.
