Malte Taux d'inflation

Malta’s annual inflation rate edged up to 2.5% in October 2025, following a six-month low of 2.4% in the previous month. Prices increased at a faster pace for housing and utilities (1.6% vs 0.7% in September), transport (3.2% vs 2.3%), recreation and culture (3.3% vs 2.4%), restaurants and hotels (3.7% vs 3.4%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.8% vs 3.7%). At the same time, price growth remained steady for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.7%) and health (2.8%). In contrast, prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.3% vs 3.6%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.3% vs 1.7%) and education (4.3% vs 5.2%), while deflation continued for clothing and footwear (-2.9% vs -0.7%) and communication (-4.0% vs -3.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.9% in October, easing from a 1.3% decline in the previous month.
