Rwanda Taux d'inflation

Rwanda's annual inflation rate accelerated for a third consecutive month to 7.7% in May 2025, the highest inflation rate since November 2023, compared to 6.6% in April. The biggest upward pressure came from prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which rose by 10.0% compared to 8.2% in April, mainly due to a 6.1% increase in vegetables. In addition, prices rose faster for restaurants and hotels (13.5% vs 11.9%); alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.2% vs 6.2%); housing and utilities (2.7% vs 2.6%); and miscellaneous goods and services (4.9% vs 3.9%). On the other hand, inflation slowed for transport (2.9% vs 3%) and clothing and footwear (6.4% vs 6.6%). Compared to the previous month, the CPI flattened, after a 2.3% increase in the previous month.
