Slovenia’s trade deficit narrowed to EUR 153.4 million in May 2025 from EUR 615.6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, as exports rose while imports dropped. Year-on-year, exports increased by 5.6% to EUR 5,358.2 million, driven by a 14% surge in shipments to non-EU countries, although sales to the EU decreased by 2.2%. Meanwhile, imports fell by 3.1% to EUR 5,511.6 million, with lower purchases from EU countries (-1%) and non-EU countries (-5.2%). Considering the first five months of the year, the country recorded a surplus of EUR 2,447.7 million.
