Sri Lanka Taux d'inflation

Consumer prices in Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo, decreased by 0.3% year-on-year in July 2025, easing from a 0.6% drop in the previous month. This marked the eleventh consecutive month of deflation, though the softest decline in 10 months, as prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.5% vs 4.3% in June). Moreover, price declines eased for both housing and utilities (-4.8% vs -7.9%), and transportation (-3.3% vs -5.5%). In contrast, prices for clothing and footwear (4.3% vs 3.9%), miscellaneous goods and services (3.7% vs 3.4%), and restaurants and hotels (1.7% vs 1.4%) increased at a faster pace. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.2% in July, reversing a 0.9% rise in June.
