Sweden’s trade surplus narrowed to SEK 4.5 billion in July 2025, down from SEK 6.8 billion in the same month of the previous year. Exports fell by 2.0% year-on-year to SEK 153.8 billion, weighed down by a 6.1% decline in sales to EU countries, although exports to non-EU countries rose by 2.4%. Meanwhile, imports edged down by 0.6% to SEK 149.3 billion. Purchases from non-EU countries shrank by 7.1%, while imports from EU countries increased by 3.0%. For the first seven months of 2025, however, the trade surplus widened to SEK 65.7 billion, compared to SEK 62.1 billion in the same period of the previous year. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the trade surplus narrowed to SEK 6.7 billion in July from SEK 7.4 billion in the previous month.
