Sweden’s trade balance recorded a surplus of SEK 5.4 billion in September 2025, reversing a deficit of SEK 0.2 billion in the same month last year. Exports rose 2.5% year-on-year to a three-month high of SEK 174.3 billion, driven by higher sales to EU countries (up 6.8% to SEK 97.8 billion), while exports to non-EU countries fell 2.5% to SEK 76.5 billion. On the other hand, imports declined 0.8% to SEK 168.9 billion, due to lower purchases from non-EU countries (down 2.7% to SEK 54.2 billion), while imports from EU countries edged up 0.1% to SEK 114.7 billion. For January–September, the cumulative trade surplus increased to SEK 56.4 billion from SEK 55.1 billion in the same period last year. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the surplus narrowed to SEK 5.0 billion in September from SEK 5.3 billion in August.
