The Bank of Uganda left its benchmark interest rate steady at 9.75% on May 13th, 2025, marking the third consecutive meeting with no adjustments, citing heightened global risks to the inflation outlook. The annual inflation rate ticked up to 3.5% in April from 3.4% in the prior month, but the core inflation climbed to 3.9% from 3.6%, moving closer to the bank's medium-term target of 5%.
