Exports of goods and services from the United States fell 4% to $279 billion in May 2025, down from a record high of $290.5 billion in April. Goods exports decreased $11.4 billion to $180.2 billion, due to lower sales of nonmonetary gold (down $5.5 billion), natural gas (down $1.1 billion), finished metal shapes (down $1.0 billion), semiconductors (down $0.6 billion), civilian aircraft engines (down $0.5 billion), telecommunications equipment (down $0.4 billion). On the other hand, exports rose for computer accessories (up $0.8 billion) and pharmaceutical preparations (up $1.1 billion). Exports of services decreased $0.2 billion to $98.8 billion, including travel (down $0.3 billion) and transport (down $0.2 billion).
