Producer prices in the US rose by 0.3% from the previous month in September of 2025, rebounding from the unexpected 0.1% reduction from the previous month and aligned with market expectations, according to a delayed report from the BLS. Factory gate costs rose sharply for foods (1.1% vs 0.1% in August) as higher prices for meat offset the decline in vegetables costs. Also, the PPI rebounded for energy (3.5% vs -0.4%) amid increases in natural gas liquids and ethanol, driving goods inflation to a 0.9% rate on the month, the highest in over one year. In the meantime, prices stalled for services to hold the 0.3% drop from the previous month. From the previous year, producer price inflation was unchanged at 2.7%.
