Dernières Mises à Jour
Indonesia’s trade surplus declined to USD 4.18 billion in July 2025, down from USD 5.01 billion in the same month a year earlier. Exports rose 9.86% year-on-year, easing from an 11.29% gain in June, as front-loading slowed following the US-Indonesia trade deal. In July, the two countries agreed to a deal under which Indonesia would pay a reciprocal tariff rate of 19%, lower than the previously threatened 32%. Meanwhile, imports fell 5.86% year-on-year, reversing a 4.28% increase in June. This marked the first decline in imports after five consecutive months of growth and the steepest contraction in purchases since May 2024, amid weaker domestic demand due to lower purchasing power. For the first seven months of 2025, Indonesia registered a trade surplus of USD 23.65 billion, with exports and imports rising 8.03% and 3.41%, respectively.
