Dernières Mises à Jour
The S&P Global Composite PMI for Brazil rose to 55.1 in February 2024 from 53.2 in the prior month, indicating the quickest expansion in private sector activity in 19 months. Services activity growth accelerated (PMI at an over 1-1/2-year high of 54.6 vs 53.1 in January) and manufacturing activity rebounded markedly (PMI at a 20-month high of 54.1 vs 52.8). Aggregate sales rose sharply, and at the fastest pace since July 2022, amid solid increases in new business received by service providers and goods producers. In the meantime, jobs increased for the fifth consecutive month, but growth softened in February as stronger job creation at manufacturers was offset by a slowdown at services firms. Regarding price development, input cost pressures were at three-month highs, while charge inflation quickened to levels not seen since May 2023.
